Many of you will have seen this Ronaldo rookie pickup already through my Instagram already but I still just cannot get enough of it. Any true Ronaldo collector has the goal of obtaining rookie material, especially the rookie sticker. Cristiano has 2 true rookies, the 2002 Panini Mega Craques card and the 2002 Panini Futebol sticker. The sticker is the true chase for collectors as it is considerably rarer than the card with a pop count of only 192 graded in total by PSA, compared to the card with 313 graded in total by PSA.
I was given the opportunity to buy this piece a few weeks back now from a collector on Instagram, after enquiring to the Facebook marketplace as to whether anyone had any interesting 1/1 cards for sale. Think it is fair to say this card is very fascinating with the patch attached, so it was a must buy for me. Obsidian 1/1s are fairly sought after with the attractive shiny ’Blue Finite’ finish on the surface of the card, and this is the first Obsidian 1/1 I add to my collection.
Another factor that made me buy this card was that the patch was associated! HOORAYYY. More than often, patches these days are simply just random pieces of material with no relevance to the player on the card. Very frustrating. But this was the first thing I established when I approached the seller.
